Ferruzzi (Wire Figures)
After the phase of the Microdisegni and the attempt to reduce appearances to the essentials, the artist began to work sculpturally. The choice of the baseplate creates the framework that places the work in a context appropriate to it. A fundamental line generates fantasy. The figures appear as if frozen in their movement frozen or just on the move. They seek meaning in the pure dynamics of the line, the only one that defines them in the momentum of their movement. As in the Microdisegni, the reduction to the essential means the search for an archetype of movement that makes these metallic silhouettes athletic prototypes, equilibrist prototypes, equilibrists who explore the limits of their physical possibilities in all possible directions. The body is captured only in the mode of movement - a "graphic" sculpture that recounts the exploits of a biped who tries to fly his arms like wings, his legs floating, but still in his fragile balance. The Ferruzzi are plastic variations of wire in the shape of a human being. The arrow of the body shoots out and flies through the air to overcome its weight. Only a line holds it back.
